    The second cohort of DSTrain postdoctoral fellows officially launched their three-year research journey on 7 November as they gathered in Oslo for the 2025 DSTrain Kick-Off Seminar. The event brought together the newly recruited researchers from Call 2, their supervisors, and dScience staff for a full-day programme designed to inspire, inform, and connect.

    The Science Library was buzzing Thursday 13. November as Professor Marianne Fyhn delivered an excellent lunch seminar on how the brain forms, stores and strengthens memories. A recording of the presentation is available for those who were not able to attend. The event drew a large and engaged audience. The session was moderated by Arne Bang Huseby, Centre Leader at dScience.

  • Norwegian Maritime AI Centre awarded NOK 100 million – UiO and dScience industry partners to play key roles Nov. 3, 2025 11:20 AM

    The Research Council of Norway has granted NOK 100 million to establish the Norwegian Maritime AI Centre, the world’s first national research centre dedicated to applied AI in the maritime sector. The centre will be led by NTNU, with the University of Oslo as a key partner alongside industry leaders and members of the dScience Partner Program: Kongsberg Maritime, Equinor, and DNV.

    This talk is about the skills needed to give a good presentation. I focus especially on certain aspects of public speaking that we academics often overlook, including public speaking aversion and anxiety, preparations, the use of voice and body, as well as the difference between writing and speaking.
