  • TRUST Becomes National Centre for Artificial Intelligence – Awarded Funding by the Research Council of Norway June 11, 2025 3:58 PM

    The Research Council of Norway announced the research environments selected to receive national research centre status for artificial intelligence (AI) at a press conference on 11 June 2025. Among those chosen is TRUST – The Norwegian Centre for Trustworthy AI – which will now receive substantial support to establish a national research centre, with its core located in Oslo Science City. TRUST will be led by the University of Oslo (UiO), SINTEF, and the Norwegian Computing Center, with dScience at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, UiO, serving as the host institution.

    Nearly 100 people gathered at the Science Library to hear theoretical physicist Morten Hjorth-Jensen share his ideas on the intersection of quantum technology and artificial intelligence. What is Computational Science and Data Science?

Computational science is about the development of methods and algorithms to solve and understand complex phenomena and problems. Data science is about the development of methods, algorithms and systems to organize, refine and extract knowledge from data. dScience merges computational science and data science.
