Resetting password and OTP for international users

This guide explains how you, with the assistance of a project administrator, can reset your password and/or OTP (two-factor authentication) in Educloud.

The process consists of two parts:

  1. The project administrator sends a link to the user to reset the password.

  2. The user uses the link to log in, optionally change the password, and/or set up a new OTP.

Part 1: For projectadministration

  1. Go to https://selfservice.educloud.no
  2. Click Foreign user administration
  3. Log in using your Educloud account or ID-porten
  4. Select the relevant project
  5. Click Send link to reset password
  6. Then click Create new link to reset password
  7. Select the correct user
  8. Click Create and send link
  9. Copy the key shown under the Secret field
    • Share this key with the user

Part 2: For user

  1. Open the email you have received and click the link
    • It’s recommended to use a private/incognito browser window
  2. Log in using the key provided by the project administrator
  3. You will now be directed to the password reset page
    •  You can skip changing your password if you only need to set up OTP again
  4. After changing your password (or skipping), click Front page to return to the homepage
  5. From the menu, select OTP
  6. Click Set new OTP
  7. A QR-code will now appear
  8. Scan the QR code using an authenticator app on your phone (e.g., Microsoft Authenticator or Google Authenticator)
  9. Once the entry appears in your authenticator app, the setup is complete
