Course content

Markov modelling, along with concepts of survival and life history data analysis, is being used to construct and identify the most useful models for life insurance. The course includes applications to setting tariffs, via equivalence methods, as well as solvency calculations and unit-link insurance.

Learning outcome

Give an introduction to the method required for analysis of the liability side of life insurance, including mathematical models, use of empirical data and calculations using a computer.

Admission

Students who are admitted to study programmes at UiO must each semester register which courses and exams they wish to sign up for in Studentweb.

If you are not already enrolled as a student at UiO, please see our information about admission requirements and procedures.
