BIO4301 – Marine Bentic Ecology
Course description
Course content
The course gives an overview of marine benthic systems. It focuses on hard- and soft bottom systems with emphasis on Norwegian conditions. The course has a one week field course where knowledge of organisms is focused.
Learning outcome
After the course you should know something about:
- Construction and function of benthic systems
- The dominating groups of organisms in the different systems
- Important abiotic factors in different systems
- Threats to the different benthic communities
