Interdisciplinary Facilitator Program
The TFP supports facilitators in developing essential skills to create conditions for a supportive learning environment where teachers and students collaborate to share and create knowledge, solutions, and ideas. These skills include organizational, technical, and interpersonal competencies.
In the program, learning assistants (LAs) gain experience in activities that promote disciplinary grounding and perspective-taking, learn how to establish shared foundations between disciplines, and integrate various disciplines into project work. LAs play a crucial role as models of epistemological humility, representing respect and interest in different disciplines and perspectives.
Background
The program is based on the Learning Assistant program from Boulder, Colorado, and consists of pedagogical training specific to the subject and weekly meetings between teachers and LAs. Starting in 2025, INTED will initiate a design-based research project to evaluate the impact of TFP on interdisciplinary education.
