Welcome to the study program Chemistry at the Department of Chemistry. We look forward to welcome you on Tuesday 12th August 2025. There is a joint program for all Master's students at the department 12th - 14th of August

To do's at the beginning of the semester
- The welcoming and inforamtion meeting on Tuesday 12th of August is mandatory in order to keep the study place.
- Participate in the master week programme, and get to know your fellow students. See the programme below.
- 14th of August is deadline for choosing courses.
- Important! You don't need to do anything before the orientation meeting, but it's recommended to look through recommended courses in advance. Read more about selecting courses below.
- Register for mandatory HSE e-learning courses. Be aware that HMS0507 - Fire Safety requires personal attendance.
We are located in the Chemistry building at Blindern campus in Oslo. You will find information on how to get there with public transportation, here.
Programme for the introductory week
The introductory week of our master studies runs over three days. Physical attendance is mandatory, and starts with the welcoming meeting on Tuesday.

Important dates
- 10 July: Deadline for accepting offer in S?knadsweb
- 12 August: Mandatory welcome meeting.
- 1 September:
- Registration and payment of the semester fee in Studentweb.
- Last deadline for enrollment to courses.
- Deadline for applying for special examination arrangement
- 15th of October: Submit application for the master's degree agreement for the master's program.

Student activities at the department
Kjemisk Fagutvalg
Kjemisk Fagutvalg (KFU) is the official contact between students and the institute and elects the institute's board members and committee.
Kjemiforeningen Proton
Proton is the chemistry students' social association. Parties, film screenings, game nights, barbecues and similar events are held regularly.
