Register move to Norway
Some students may have to report move to Norway and will receive an identification number. This depends on your citizenship and how long you will be in Norway. To find out what applies to you, please check the information from the Tax Administration.
EU/EEA citizens
Students staying for more than six months must register in the National Registry. If you are living in Oslo, you must register and book an appointment at The Service Center for Foreign Workers (SUA - Skatt ?st). SUA is located in Schweigaardsgate 17.
You must bring:
- Passport or National ID card
- Tenancy contract
- Admission letter (and semester card)
- The completed form RF-1401 Notification of a move to Norway
If you have not registered with the police, you should also bring with you:
- EU health insurance card or private health insurance
- A personal declaration that you have sufficient funds for your period of stay
If you have booked an appointment with the police at the Service Centre for Foreign Workers (SUA) in Oslo, you will be transferred to the Tax Administration after your appointment with the police.
