Welcome to the first UiO Growth House innovation hangout of 2023 – a meeting place for academia and industry. This hangout is a collaboration with dScience – Centre for Computational and Data Science at UiO.

For researchers and students at the University of Oslo, researchers at Oslo University Hospital (OUS) and Akershus University Hospital (Ahus), members of Norway Health Tech, The Life Science Cluster, LMI, Oslo Cancer Cluster, Aleap, Startuplab, ShareLab an the Oslo Science Park community and Oslo Science City partners. Free of charge, but you had to sign up.

Inspirational talk 

Astrid KristoffersenAstrid Kristoffersen, PhD, Research & Development Director DNV. She is responsible for research and development in DNV within energy, maritime, health, food and value chains, ocean space and digital assurance.

More about the speaker, her talk and DNV

Kristoffersen has a Master's in mathematics and PhD in physics from the University of Oslo. 

She started in the oil and gas sector after her PhD and worked with numerical models of multiphase flow and separation, then engineering management in Vetco/GE Oil. She has also worked 10 years in Kongsberg Gruppen in sales, business development and profit and loss management within oil and gas and maritime.

In her talk she will talk about her personal experience with the transition from academia to industry and the R&D in DNV in general and touch into within health in particular and what competence DNV is looking for. She will also show examples on how DNV collaborates with academia.

Vegard VinjeVegard Vinje, PhD, consultant Expert Analytics

Vinje has a Master’s in mechanics and PhD in mathematics and cerebrospinal fluid dynamics from the University of Oslo.

After his PhD he was employed as postdoc at Simula Research Laboratory and later as research director for scientific computing. From April 2023 Vinje is
