The Heart Research Prize was awarded to Sigrun Halvorsen
Halvorsen receives the prize for her many years of contribution to better treatments, new guidelines, her ability to convert her own research results into clinical patient care, and her dissemination of research in cardiology. 'There are so many exciting things,' she says.

The Dementia Research Prize was awarded to Jens Pahnke

Pahnke is awarded the prize for important research on causal relationships in dementia, the discovery of new risk genes, and the development of new methods for diagnosis. Pahnke is also honored for fostering collaboration and innovation in the field across borders and research groups.

UiO: Rector Election 2025: Use your right to vote! The election closes on April 4 at 8 AM! The winner of the election will be announced on Scene Humsam ( The university library) and will be streamed live from 4:15 PM on Friday, April 4.

Uniforum: Nominating two candidate pairs in the rector election gives the UiO voters more power. Remember to nominate two candidates. If no one receives more than 50% in the first round, the candidate with the fewest votes will be eliminated. If the candidate who is eliminated is the only one you nominated, you will end up not having voted in the second round.

MB: The study that placed Norway on the cardiology world map is being commemorated: On April 8, a jubilee symposium will be held for Terje R. Pedersen, who 30 years ago presented the first findings from the 4S study, the Scandinavian Simvastatin Survival Study. Professor Kjetil Retterst?l will lead the first part of the event and will give a lecture in the second part on the prevention of cardiovascular disease

- Department meeting: The next meeting is on 15 April. The meetings are held every other Tuesday from 13:30 to 15:30. Agenda papers should be sent by 12:00 on the preceding Thursday.
